Open Farm Sunday - Small grants available

With 10 days until Open Farm Sunday on the 1st June 2008, 400 farms have now registered to open their gates.

Small Grants Available - The Gatliff Trust have offered LEAF a grant of £1000 to be allocated as ten grants of £100 to help ten Open Farm Sunday events. The trustees have expressed a desire that the money be directed towards attracting young visitors and shouldn't go to anything where a fee is being charged. These grants will be offered on a first come first served basis.

South West Farmers - The SW Year of Food and Farming team have a small amount of money to help farmers hosting an Open Farm Sunday event in the South West with toilet hire.

HEFF

FIND (Food Information Networking Drink), the hugely successful annual trade event organised by HEART of ENGLAND fine foods, is a key part of our trade development programme.

Uniting all parts of the food chain the event includes networking opportunities, seminars and, new for 2008, 'business clinics' provided by HEFF and food and drink industry experts.

YOFF - Worcestershire Schools Event

Worcestershire Rural Hub, in conjunction with local farmers, food and drink businesses and other partner organizations is to hold a bespoke event for local schools to promote the Year of Food and Farming within the county.

The Year of Food and Farming is a high profile industry-led initiative with full Government support and
with HRH The Prince of Wales acting as Patron. The event will be a fantastic opportunity for children,
young people and teachers
